Here’s a list of commonly asked questions people have before hiring a web designer along with some tech jargon-free answers:

I’m not a "techie", will I be left in the dark during the build?

Not at all. My process is built on clear communication. You start by filling out my simple Quote Form with what you need, and I promise to reply within 24 hours without using confusing jargon. You’re involved at every step to make sure the site actually matches your vision.

It’s a “full-service” deal. Your quote can include everything from registering your web address (the “domain”) and setting up your professional email, to the actual design, technical setup, and even adding your initial content. You’ll get a detailed, itemised quote so you know exactly where every Euro is going.

Yes! Whether you need a simple “brochure” site to show off your services, a full online shop (e-commerce), or a system for people to book appointments, or anything else you could possibly imagine, it can be built in. I use design systems called WordPress & Elementor, which are very flexible for adding these kinds of “extras.”

This is a must-have today. All sites are built to be “responsive.” This just means the website automatically rearranges itself to look great and be easy to use whether someone is looking at it on a giant office monitor or a small smartphone.

I include “SEO” (Search Engine Optimisation) as part of the service. In plain English, this means I do the “boring” behind-the-scenes work, like naming images correctly and using the right keywords so that when someone searches for your business in Leitrim or beyond, you actually show up.

Writing for a website is hard! If you’re struggling, you don’t have to do it alone. There is an option for professional content writing where I can write blog posts or page descriptions for you that are designed to appeal to both human readers and Google’s search bots.

You’re not abandoned once the site goes live. There is an “aftercare” service. If you host your site with me, I take care of the technical updates and security patches to keep the “bad guys” (hackers) out and keep everything running smoothly.

Yes. Because the sites are built on the WordPress content management system, they are designed to be user-friendly to edit. If you want to change a bit of text or add a new photo later on, you can. For more complex changes or additional functionality, I’m available at an hourly rate or a set quote so you’re never stuck.

Websites have rules now, like GDPR (privacy) and Accessibility requirements. I stays on top of this for you. I build sites with the necessary cookie banners, privacy policies and accessibility features to make sure sites meet the new standards for privacy and users with disabilities.

Every business is different, so there isn’t a “one size fits all” price. The best way to start is to fill out my Quote Form on the website. You’ll get a “no-surprises” quote that breaks down the cost of each element along with my terms & conditions. If you’re happy, you move forward; if not, there’s no pressure!
